Star Wars: Galaxy Of Heroes will be officially playable on PC
The nearly nine-year-old game is finally expanding outside of being a mobile game.
Star Wars: Galaxy Of Heroes is a popular mobile game in which you play simulated holographic battles using characters you collect in a turn-based combat style. These characters range from the main continuity, such as Anakin Skywalker and Rey from the movies or The Mandalorian from the series of the same name, to characters from the Knights of the Old Republic series of games, such as Bastila Shan and Canderous Ordo, among others.
According to GameInformer's report, the PC version of the game will feature a framerate of up to 60fps, anti-aliasing, higher resolution settings to take advantage of the capabilities of high-end PCs, and if it wasn't obvious, Mouse and Keyboard Support, though no confirmation of Controller support.
Players of the mobile game will be able to keep their saved data when switching to PC and vice versa, meaning that they will be able to keep any characters they worked hard to obtain and can continue where they left off when switching between platforms.
Considering that the Multiplayer modes are asynchronous, it seems that playing on a different platform won't affect if you are playing with/against a mobile player while you play on a PC.
Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes has been a mobile-exclusive game since its launch in November 2015. While some players managed to play it on PC through unofficial means, it was still primarily a mobile experience. However, with the official PC release, the game is set to reach new heights, offering a better frame rate, improved image quality, and more comfortable controls.
EA is currently having a Closed Beta Registration where players have a chance to test the game in the near future, namely in May, though there is no specific date; it also seems to require that you have already started playing the game, as it requires your email and game account linked to that email.
