The Summer update is coming to Genshin Impact on version 4.8

Genshin Impact released the latest Genshin Impact Special Program, which details what is to come in Version 4.8. It also released a new Teaser for the Next update, which will introduce the new Region, Natlan.

New Character

Version 4.8 will introduce us to Emilie, Fontaine's most renowned perfumer. She will appear as a featured 5-Star in Phase II of the Character Event Wish Banner.

New Quest

As this is the final Patch of 4.X, there won't be a new Main Quest. However, you can look forward to Emilie's Story Quest Pomum de Ambra Chapter: Act I when she arrives in the game.

New Outfits

Nilou and Kirara will receive new Outfits. Nilou's Outfit will have a discount for the duration of the Patch, and Kirara's Outfit will be a free reward as part of the Main Event; both Outfits will have their regular price from 5.0 onwards.

New Feature

The Imaginarium Theater will add a new gameplay mode where you can unlock special visual effects for some characters by completing their respective challenges. You unlock these challenges with keys you get from playing the Imaginarium Theater. These keys are scarce, so choose wisely where you want to use them.

New Area

A new area, Simulanka, will be added temporarily for the duration of version 4.8, where the main event will take place.

New Events

Summertide Scales and Tales

The Main Event, featuring multiple mini-events that will reward you with a new outfit for Kirara and the opportunity to invite her if you don't have her or want a constellation.

Bing-Bang Finchball

It is a Tabletop game where you boost small Finch-like objects to land on the marked areas; different Finchballs can help you gain more points, and a rival will try to obstruct your way; you can also play with other players.

Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens: Dew-Kissed Chapter

A photography event where you have to take specific pictures, such as a character performing certain actions with a specific background.

Energy Amplifier: Lemma

In a custom battle event, you can choose what effects you will have during each round; you use three different teams for each round, and you can repeat characters, but it is better to have diverse teams, or you might not get all the buffs you set up.

Natlan Teaser

At the end of the Special Program they also presented a new Teaser for the next region, showing several new characters.

Other changes

Long-term Encounter Points are being added to the game, Bosses will now take less time to respawn, and many more small changes were mentioned in the Developers Discussion for Version 4.8.
