Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact is bringing great changes and rewards in 5.0
A new region, a whole new story, and many rewards and improvements are coming to Genshin Impact.
Hoyoverse has released the latest Special Program for Genshin Impact's next version, this time moving to the next big update, 5.0, which will bring many changes and additions to the game, including an entirely new region, new characters, a continuation to the main story and many highly requested improvements.
New Region
Being the next big update, Version 5.0 will bring a new region to the game, Natlan, which is inspired by many real-life locations; prominently, there are signs of inspiration in Latin America, West Africa, and a bit of Australia, among others, as one can see on the names of everything and choice of instruments for the OST.
New Quests
A new Region means a new Archon Quest, adding the first two acts of Chapter 5 of the main story.
There will also be new Story Quests, though they won't be focused on singular characters this time. These are the Tribal Chronicles, which will focus more on the nation's Tribes.
Playing these quests on time will give players extra rewards, such as 500 Primogems for the Archon Quest and 120 for the Tribal Chronicles; new players will have the chance to Quick Start the New Archon Quest after completing Liyue's Archon Quest so they don't miss the rewards.
It isn't specified how long the additional rewards will be available, but it will likely be for the duration of version 5.0.
New Characters
Version 5.0 will introduce a ton of new characters, but only three will be playable in this Version: Mualani, a 5-Star Hydro Catalyst user from the Meztli Tribe; Kinich, a 5-Star Dendro Claymore user from the Huitztlan Tribe, and Kachina, a 4-Star Geo Polearm user from the Nanatzcayan Tribe.
You'll be able to get Kachina as you Progress through the Natlan Archon Quest.
Mualani and Kachina will appear during Phase I of the Character Event Wish Banner, while Kinich will appear during Phase II.
New Events
Traces of Artistry
This is the Flagship Event, which will help you familiarize yourself with the new region, tasking you to gather specific materials unique to Natlan, take pictures of some of the new creatures, and fight the new local enemies.
Additionally from the usual rewards, participating in this Event you'll also get a special 4-Star weapon.
Of Thorns and Crowns
This is this Version's Battle event, where you'll fight monsters in multiple special challenges.
Mementos of Teyvat
Take pictures under specific conditions to claim the rewards; you can choose the angles and characters as long as you meet the prerequisites of each photograph.
Dodoco's Boom-Bastic Escapades
Similar to the classic games of Bomberman, you guide Dodoco through an enemy-filled map and place bombs to defeat them.
There will also be a log-in event where you'll be able to get 10 Intertwined Fates, and an Anniversary Event where you'll get 1,600 Primogems and a Standard 5-Star Character of your Choice.
Updated Wish Mechanics
The Character Event wish Banners will now have a new mechanic called "Capturing Radiance," where, occasionally, if you get a 5-Star Character that is not guaranteed to be the featured character, the probability of getting the featured character will be 55/45 instead of the usual 50/50 chance. Additionally, if you get the featured character, the wish animation will have a new special effect aside from the typical golden glow.
This does not mean that 50/50 will change to 55/45 permanently, but it will happen occasionally; it will also only occur during 50/50s and will not affect the Guarantee mechanic; it will also only affect the Character Event Wish Banners and not the Epitome Invocation (Weapon) Banner nor the Wanderlust Invocation (Standard) Banner.
The Epitome Invocation Banner will also be modified so it no longer requires 2 Fate Points to guarantee you get the weapon you want. It will now change to only needing one Fate Point, reducing the maximum number of wishes required to get the featured weapon.
Other changes
A new helpful Gadget will be added, the Artifact Transmuter, which will allow players to produce artifacts with their preferred Main Stat and two Sub-Stats; this Gadget requires a Sanctifying Elixir, which can be obtained through exploration or consuming artifacts with the same Gadget.
You will also be able to convert 4-star artifacts and below into Artifact EXP materials. This is helpful if you have a full inventory and want to get rid of useless artifacts without having to level up other artifacts that don't require it.
More changes were revealed during the Special Program and the recent Developers Discussion, such as the addition of World Level 9, increased drop rate on certain items, and an increase in the load limit on the Serenitea Pot, among other things, so be prepared for a new version full of content when 5.0 releases on August 27th.
