Tera Raids for Gimmighoul are back in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Get a chance to catch a Shiny Gimmighoul, as well as Wattrel, Riolu, and Comfey with the Pumped-Up Mark.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's latest Event for the Summer is here, and this time, it is not a 7-Star Tera Raid. However, it is still a great opportunity for those who want a unique Pokémon, as Gimmighoul is here with a chance of being Shiny.
The Event will last two weeks, starting on Thursday, August 8th, and ending on Thursday, August 22nd. Gimmighoul will begin appearing on Tera Raids of all difficulties, from 1-Star to 5-Stars, and there is a chance of it being Shiny, a rare occurrence considering you can't get it any other way. Unfortunately, the chances of finding one are about 1 in 4103, and things like the Shiny Charm and Sparkling Power Sandwiches do not affect these odds; it is also worth noting that Gimmighoul's Shiny appearance is barely noticeable, so if you want one, you might need to catch every single one you find, unless you can distinguish the slightly lighter color of the Gimmighoul inside of the chest.
Along with the Tera Raid Event, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will feature a Mass Outbreak Event spanning the same dates; this Event will feature Wattrel, Riolu, and Comfey on Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy, respectively; all three Pokémon will have a 1 in 200 chance of being Shiny, with the same odds of also having the Pumped-Up Mark a very rare Mark to get outside of the Event.
Since Gimmighoul may appear on any Tera Raid, it will have any Tera type, so it's best to focus on bringing a Pokémon that may resist Ghost-type moves and the Rock-type move Power Gem if the level is high enough. Ignoring Nature, Gimmighoul has a high Special Attack stat and balanced Defensive stats, so you should bring a Pokémon with high Special Defense.
To participate in these Events, all you need to do is open the Poké Portal and Check Poké Portal News through the Mystery Gift menu; the Event Mass Outbreaks will appear with a Golden Icon on the map, while Event Tera Raids appear with a Glimmer surrounding their icon on the map.
