Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is still in development despite the circumstances
After Embracer Group sold Saber Interactive, the latter took the game with them, ensuring the development of KOTOR.
Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch has reassured fans that the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is still in development, using the words "the game is alive and well."
Considering the tough road that this remake has been through, it is nice to hear those few words, especially after witnessing Embracer's restructuring, causing tons of layoffs and studios closing, with Gearbox and Saber Interactive being "saved" by being bought by others, though Gearbox did suffer layoffs after being acquired by Take-Two Interactive.
While it's reassuring to know that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is still in development, it's important to note that we're still uncertain about how far along it actually is. The game has been announced for quite some time and has undergone changes in developers, so it's reasonable to assume that we won't be hearing any significant developments for a while. At this point, all we have is the reassurance that the game is "alive and well," with no concrete indications of progress other than the fact that it's being made.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is still far from being released, but for now, all we know is that it will come out on PC and have a timed exclusivity with PlayStation 5, making the wait for release on any other platform even longer.
