Saints Row developer Volition is Shutting Down
Effective immediately, Volition was closed.
Embracer Group, the owners of Volition, has decided on a restructuring program; unfortunately for Volition, the program involved the closure of this studio as announced on LinkedIn.

Volition has been around for 30 years and was known for several games; among the most recent are the Saints Row games, which, sadly, the last one was not of the best quality, as it was a reboot of the franchise, and it changed so drastically from what the previous game was.
In the message, they also said that they would provide Job Assistance so the affected employees can transition smoothly to a new job.
Surely, there are more reasons why Volition is being closed down, but for the general public, the first thing that comes to mind is that the Saints Row reboot was a massive disappointment for many people.
In June, Embracer announced that there would be closing studios and canceling projects, so Volition might be one of many studios we hear closing as part of this restructuring plan.
