Rockstar announces that they will announce the next GTA soon

Rockstar has confirmed that they will reveal the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto in early December; the announcement is due to the 25th Anniversary coming, nearly half of that time spent without a new standalone GTA.

What do they mean by "the next Grand Theft Auto"?

For a while now, people have been calling it GTA 6, but for all we know, it could be a separate story, similar to GTA Vice City, though that wouldn't make much of a difference, the genre doesn't change, and the games aren't connected that deeply with each other.

When will the trailer release? And When is Rockstar's 25th Anniversary?

The announcement talks about the 25th Anniversary and that they will reveal the trailer in early December, and their Anniversary will be on December 10th, meaning they could be showing the trailer on that day. However, that seems unlikely; if that were the case, they could have said that they were revealing the trailer on the 25th Anniversary instead of saying early December.

For a while now, it was known that they were working on a new GTA, not only because it was the obvious thing to do, considering the franchise's popularity, but because some time ago, there were some leaks of early development, which angered some people who didn't realize it didn't look good because it was Early Development footage.
