Possible title for next Budokai Tenkaichi game trademarked by Bandai Namco
Though here, it might still be called Budokai Tenkaichi instead of Sparking! Zero.
In early March 2023, a new Budokai Tenkaichi game was revealed to be in production, though it was still in early development; in the announcement, they first showed footage of the previous Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi games, followed by a higher quality Goku transforming into his Super Sayan God Super Sayan form, or Super Sayan Blue.
Now, some fans have discovered that on September 26th, Bandai Namco filed for the trademark of the words "Sparking! Zero" under the use for Downloadable computer game software and other similar uses; for some people, this might sound irrelevant, but for any Dragon Ball fan, more specifically the Budokai Tenkaichi games, Sparking!, strangely enough, is the Japanese name for these games.
The subtitle Sparking! Zero might not mean anything about the content of the upcoming game, as Japanese people often use foreign words for their titles to sound cool, but who knows, maybe they are planning something.
This could mean that at least they are far enough that they already have a name for the game, though it does not mean that this will be the title for the Western version, they would probably keep the old naming convention and call it Dragon Ball Super: Budokai Tenkaichi to keep with the current series, or Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 to keep with the game series.
The Budokai Tenkaichi games have a strange history of naming; in the West, they have a Japanese name, but in Japanese, they have an English name. They also have little to do with the Budokai games besides being Dragon Ball fighting games.
