Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection for PC mouse and keyboard support will vary depending on the game.
Or so it seems, it depends on who you ask.
Some time ago, news came out that all the games in Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection needed a controller to play them; even though PC versions of the first two Metal Gear Solid games existed at some point (now just the first one), and those versions had Keyboard and Mouse support.
As PCGamer asked Konami brand marketing director Ben Kinney during a Press event, and he gave a very vague response, indicating that they are looking into that but that the main focus of the collection is to stay true to "the original gameplay experience" which is playing with a controller.
"I think we have a potential—maybe not for Volume 1, but I think that the devs are going to be considering and looking at that." -Ben Kinney to PCGamer
This seems a bit contradictory to PCGamesN's side of the situation, as they spoke with Céline Combelles, senior brand manager for Metal Gear Solid at Konami, seemingly during the same press event, where she replied that they are currently working on adding Keyboard and Mouse support in some way for all games in the collection.
Later they confirmed directly with Konami, and the final response was that Keyboard and Mouse support would differ depending on the game; the older titles like Metal Gear Solid and the Classic games will use Keyboard mainly, Metal Gear Solid 2 will use Keyboard and Mouse, but with focus on the use of Keyboard, and Metal Gear Solid 3 will have full support of Keyboard and Mouse.
This sounds pretty official, but let's wait for an actual official announcement, given that the games are still listed on Steam as needing a controller to play at the time of writing this article.
