Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth latest trailers reveal tons of key points in the game
RGG Studio just had an RGG Summit, but they called it RGG Like a Dragon Direct this time.
The recent RGG Like a Dragon Direct talked about both of their upcoming games, the spin-off Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and the next in the main series Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Party Members
In the Gameplay Reveal Trailer, we see that, as expected, the game will be much like the previous game; all (but one) party members from Yakuza: Like a Dragon will come back, and some others will also join, more importantly, Kiryu will also join your party.
Combat
Just like Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the game will be a turn-based RPG, where you can give your party members different "Jobs" to aid you in battle; Kiryu can also be seen using a special ability that allows him to break out of the RPG style and start attacking the enemies like in his games.
Poundmates also makes a comeback, which is the summon system; it makes special characters appear and do a powerful attack, heal you, or buff/de-buff somebody.
Side Activities
Like every other game in the franchise, there will be a lot of minigames, side stories, Karaoke, and even a date aspect of the game that might cause awkward situations if somebody walks in while you are playing.
Story
They also unveiled a 10-minute story trailer that reveals a lot of the story's main points, from the reason why you are in Honolulu to Kiryu's story and a Vtuber that reveals to the world things that negatively affect our protagonists.
In the trailer, Kasuga's reason to go to Hawaii is that he is sent to look for his mother, while he gets involved again in some huge conspiracy, which involves a lot of people also looking for Kasuga's mom.
Kiryu was also sent there seemingly to do the same but for a separate reason, and when the two cross paths, they join forces. It is later revealed that Kiryu was diagnosed with Cancer, and he wants to dismantle the Yakuza again, this time for good before his time is up.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be released on January 26th, 2024, for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and PC.
