Ghost of Tsushima PSN requirement on PC is partially optional
You can still play the game without a PlayStation Account unless you want to play online.
May hasn't started well for PC players who like PlayStation games. Sony announced the PlayStation Network requirement for Helldivers 2, which annoyed the players for some understandable reasons but also raised another concern: " What about the other PlayStation games?"
Fortunately for some and not so much for others, Sucker Punch, the developers behind Ghost of Tsushima, the PlayStation game coming to PC on May 16th, have reassured that the requirement for a PlayStation Network account will remain as it was, non-obligatory for Single-player, but required for the online multiplayer mode as well as for the PlayStation Overlay; hopefully Sony doesn't change their mind a few months after release.
Thank you for your feedback.

Just so you are aware, A PSN account is required for Legends online multiplayer mode and to use PlayStation overlay. It is not required to play the singleplayer game.
The game will not ask you to sign in or create an account to play the main part of the game but will ask you if you want to use the extra features, such as the Legends online multiplayer mode or the PlayStation Overlay, to track your Trophies. Still, one major issue would be the one that this game shares with Helldivers 2; players in countries that do not have access to the PlayStation Network will not be able to use these features and would be buying half the game if they can at all.
Unlike Helldivers 2, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is not yet restricted in countries without access to the PlayStation Network, meaning that thousands of players won't be able to play the game to its full extent due to this requirement.
At present, most PlayStation games available on PC do not require a PlayStation account, unlike Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tsushima. However, it is possible that the PlayStation Overlay could be added to other games in future updates, which would make it necessary for those who want to track their Trophies on their PlayStation account. Similarly, other games with online features could also require a PlayStation Account in future releases, as is the case with Helldivers 2.
