Game Pass brings Like a Dragon Gaiden and Ishin later this year
Like a Dragon Gaiden will be added at launch, and Like a Dragon Ishin says 2023.
During the Tokyo Game Show, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced that their latest spin-off games are coming to Xbox Game Pass for Xbox consoles and PCs.
As a reminder, the franchise was renamed in the West; instead of Yakuza, the mainline games will now have the translated name from the Japanese titles Ryu Ga Gotoku/Like a Dragon.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will launch on November 9th of this year, coming to current and last generation consoles and PC, and will be added to Xbox Game Pass for Consoles and PC Game Pass.
The Man Who Erased His Name focuses on the protagonist of most games of the Yakuza series, Kazuma Kiryu. The story will revolve around the events between Yakuza 6 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon (Yakuza 7); it will also serve as the lead-up to Kiryu's appearance in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Yakuza 8).
Finishing Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will also reward players with a demo of the next game, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Like a Dragon Ishin is another Spin-off of the series; this one has a more distinct story than the main games, set in old Japan during the Edo period, taking the role of Sakamoto Ryōma. Most of the characters are based on historical figures from Japan and have the appearance of characters from the main series.
The announcement only mentions that Like a Dragon Gaiden will come to Game Pass on day one of launch, but Like a Dragon Ishin only says it is coming during 2023, so it may come to Game Pass during any of the six remaining waves of this year.
