Dragon Ball FighterZ is receiving a Rollback Netcode update and console upgrades
Dragon Ball Fighters is releasing a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S version, which you can upgrade for free.
Bandai Namco has announced the release of Dragon Ball FighterZ on PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, as well as a Rollback Netcode update, which will be available for these platforms as well as PC; PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions won't receive this treatment.

Upgrade
The owners of the game's PS4 and Xbox One versions can upgrade to the current generation for free. However, there is no cross-gen online play available. This means that if you choose to upgrade to the current-gen version, you will only be able to play against others who are using the same platform as you. In other words, you can only play PS5 vs. PS5, but not PS5 vs. PS4, and definitely not PS4 vs. Xbox Series X.
Rollback Netcode
For anyone unaware, the Rollback Netcode allows for the game to guess inputs, so you don't need to wait for the game to receive the other player's input for it to happen on your side, reducing the delay when playing; this is often so effective the predictions have no discrepancy with the player's input, and if there were, the game quickly "rolls back" the game's state a few frames, enough to fix the mistake and keep a smooth experience.
The game's PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will have a Rollback Netcode, while the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions will remain on the delay-based Netcode, which is only good if both players have perfect internet; PC players will have the option to choose which one they prefer, but will only be matched with players with the same setting.
Not all game modes will use Rollback Netcode. The Circle Party Match and Party Battle modes, which allow for more players to participate, will only be playable on delay-based Netcode.
