Hydro Tulpa, strategies, weak points, and achievements

The Hydro Tulpa is a Boss from Fontaine; it can be found in an underwater cave southwest of the Court of Fontaine, and when defeated, it rewards you with "Water That Failed To Transcend" and Varunada Lazurite.

Weak Point

The Hydro Tulpa does not have any weak points, but you do get a chance to stun it for a brief moment if you manage to destroy the Half-Tulpas when it is absorbing them.

Strategy

In terms of resistances, the Hydro Tulpa is immune to Hydro and slightly resistant to all the other elements, so any non-Hydro character should be enough. However, a Cryo or Dendro character is recommended, as the Half-Tulpas go down in one hit of those elements.

The floor is wet, so be careful of using Electro unless you are actively healing.

Since the Hydro Tulpa is a pure Hydro enemy, elemental reactions are hugely recommended, so you might want to bring characters who benefit from these.

Achievements

As of 4.2, there is no co-op achievement for this boss.

Many-as-one

Stop the Hydro Tulpa from absorbing Half-Tulpas twice in one challenge.

Half-Tulpas appear every 12.5 seconds, and they go down with one Cryo or Dendro attack; wait until the Hydro Tulpa is about to absorb one of these and hit the Half-Tulpa during the animation; do this twice, and you'll get the achievement.
