How to beat the Ice-type Gym in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
Defeat Grusha, The Sub-zero Shredder, and get the Ice-type Badge from the only Gym not in a town.

The Ice-type Gym is the highest level Gym in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet; due to this, it would be recommended to challenge it last, but you’ll be able to reach a high enough level to challenge him by the time you get 5 or 6 badges; his Gym is the only one that is not in a city or town.
How do you get to the Ice-type Gym?
The Ice-type Gym is in Glaseado Mountain; from Montenevera, take the south Exit, and you’ll get to the Ice-type Gym along the path; there’s no missing it, and a Pokémon center is next to it.

Doing the Gym Test
The Ice-type Gym Test has you slide down the mountain in under 1 minute 30 seconds, hitting all the checkpoints; the path is really short so it shouldn’t be that hard to complete, slow down when trying to turn, and speed up when the checkpoints are aligned.
Battling the Gym Leader
First Battle
Grusha specializes in Ice-type Pokémon, weak to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel-type Moves, and resistant only to other Ice-type moves.
His team has Frosmoth (Lv. 47), Beartic (Lv. 47), Cetitan (Lv. 47), and an Altaria (Lv. 48) that he’ll Terastalize into Ice-type.
Frosmoth would be the only one with Dual typing (Ice/Bug), now resisting Grass, and Ground-type moves, exchanging the Fighting-type Weakness with Weakness to Flying-type moves, and becoming twice as weak to Fire and Rock-type moves.
Beartic knows Aqua Jet, Super Effective against Fire-type Pokémon, and Earthquake, Super Effective against Fire and Rock and Steel-type Pokémon.
Cetitan knows the move Liquidation, Super Effective against Fire-type Pokémon, and has the Thick Fat Ability, halving incoming Fire-type moves.
And Altaria knows Hurricane, which is Super Effective against Fighting-type Pokémon.
Rematch
During the Post-game, you’ll challenge him again; his team will be Frosmoth (Lv. 65), Beartic (Lv. 65), Cetitan (Lv. 65), Weavile (Lv. 65), and an Altaria (Lv. 66), the Battle remains mostly the same.
Weavile is new in the team; being Ice/Dark-type, it is twice as weak to Fighting-type moves, and adds weakness to Bug and Fairy-type moves and resistance to Dark and Ghost-type moves.
