How to beat the Dark-type Team Star Base?
Clean up the Segin Squad's Base and defeat Giacomo, the Dark-type Boss of Team Star.
Out of the three main storylines in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the Starfall Street storyline is centered around taking down the "evil organization," Team Star. In this storyline, you receive assistance from Cassiopeia and Clive while you challenge the bases of Team Star. You can challenge the bases in any order, but just like the other storylines, each challenge has its own difficulty level. Based on that, the Dark Crew's Base is the first recommended to tackle.
How to reach the Dark Crew's Base?
The Segin Squad's Base is the only base on the west side of the map; you get there during the Victory Road storyline when going to the Water-type Gym, as they have a blockade right before reaching the town.
Beating the Dark Crew's Base
Beating the Base
Before challenging the base's boss, you have to go through the entire base and defeat 30 Pokémon within 10 minutes, but instead of traditional battles, you have to use the Let's Go feature (Press the R button), and you can only use the first three Pokémon on your team.
Given that this is the Dark-type base, most of the Pokémon the grunts send out have Dark as one of their types, so you'd better bring Bug, Fairy, and Fighting-type Pokémon on the front of your team, some might be resistant, but most are weak to at least one of these.
Defeating the Boss
Being the lowest difficulty base, Giacomo will challenge you with two Pokémon, a Pawniard (Lv.21) and his Starmobile (Lv.20), a modified Dark-type Revavroom.
-
Pawniard is Dark/Steel-type, exceptionally weak to Fighting-type moves, weak to Fire and Ground-type moves, immune to Poison and Psychic-type moves, and resistant to any move that isn't Bug, Electric, Fairy, and Water-type. It has the moves Metal Claw, Fury Cutter, and Aerial Ace; Metal Claw raises the user's attack stat, and Fury Cutter hits harder when used in succession.
-
The Starmobile will be Dark-type, weak to Bug, Fairy, and Fighting-type moves; it has the moves Wicked Torque (unique to this battle), Snarl, Metal Sound, and Swift; Wicked Torque may make your Pokémon fall asleep, Snarl lowers your Pokémon's Special Attack, and Metal Sound harshly lowers your Pokémon's Special Defense.
