How does the Chronicled Wish works in Genshin Impact?
Learn how the Chronicled Wish works and how it differs from the other available Wish Banners.

Genshin Impact boasts a collection of several coveted limited characters, with only four of them being featured in each game version. This means that some characters may go without being featured for over a year. To address this, Hoyoverse introduced the Chronicled Wish, a unique Wish Banner that adds a few more characters to the featured list and offers a distinct experience from the regular Event Wish Banners.
What is the Chronicled Wish?
The Chronicled Wish is similar to the Weapon Wish Banner in that you can choose what you are looking for, and if you are unlucky enough not to get it enough times, you are guaranteed to get your pick the next time (Two fails in the Weapon Banner, and only one in the Chronicled Wish).
In the Chronicled Wish, you can choose from a list of Limited and Standard 5-star Characters, as well as some weapons; after a maximum of 90 Wishes, you get a 5-star Character/weapon; if you don't get the one you want, you'll still get will be another 5-star of the same list and category of your pick, and will gain a Fate Point.
After you gain a Fate Point, you are guaranteed to get your pick the next time you get another 5-star as long as it is while the Banner is still available; just like the Weapon Banner, Fate Points do not carry over to the next Banner, so if you didn't get the 5-star you wanted and the banner ends, the next Chronicled Wish banner won't guarantee your pick.
What happens after the Banner ends?
The Wish Count will remain, so if you stop at 60 Wishes, the next Chronicled Wish banner will keep the same count, giving you a 5-star within the next 30 wishes, though, as mentioned before, Fate Points won't carry over, so you are guaranteed a 5-star, but not necessarily the one you picked.
What defines which characters will appear in this Banner?
The Chronicled Wish Banner will feature Characters that have been featured in the Character Event Banner at least three times, meaning no recently released characters will appear there; it must also not have been featured recently; for example, the first Chronicled Wish Banner features Klee and Eula, who were previously featured in Version 3.8, five full versions or just over seven months; this might also apply for 4-star characters, as the possible 4-stars are also from a limited list, increasing your chances of getting a desired 4-star.
As of 4.5, you can also get Amber, Kaeya, and Lisa from this Banner, which were normally only obtainable through the Standard Banner and during certain months in the in-game shop.
