Geo Hypostasis, strategies, weak points, and achievements

Gimel is a Geo Hypostasis you can fight in Guyun Stone Forest, Southeast of Liyue; defeating it will reward you with Basalt Pillars and Geo Crystals.

Strategy

Unlike other Hypostases, the Geo Hypostasis will stay at fixed places above the pillars it summoned.

To damage the Boss, you can do a couple of things: use a ranged character to hit it directly, or use blunt damage such as a Claymore to destroy the Pillar it rests on and make it fall, stunned and unprotected.

There is an attack to be wary of; Gimel will make the summoned pillars cause tons of constant damage to their surroundings, look for a strange mass in the arena, and destroy it to create a force field that can withstand this attack.

If there are no pillars, the fight will continue like the regular fight with other Hypostases.

At the end of the battle, the Geo Hypostasis will summon three pillars around it, destroy them with blunt damage, and the battle ends; if you didn't destroy them all, the Boss will recover some health, but any destroyed pillar from this phase will not return when weakened again.

Weak Point

The Geo Hypostasis has no weaknesses or weak points; it is immune to Geo, and any elemental reaction will only generate crystals to give you shields.

The only way to stun this Boss is by destroying the Pillar it stands on during the fight, but you'll have to be quick as it moves from Pillar from time to time.

Achievements

Juggernaut

Crush all of a Geo Hypostasis' Rock Pillars of Revival before it can be revived.

The time might be short to do this, but it is easy once you find your strategy; one way to do it would be using Noelle's elemental Burst to cover a wider area with her attacks and hitting the pillars without needing to get to them completely.

A House Ill-Founded

Cause the same Geo Hypostasis to fall three times by destroying the Basalt Column that it is on.

To get this achievement, you'll have to go for it directly, weaken every Pillar, but wait to destroy any until the Boss stands in one of them. Do this three times, and the achievement is yours.

None Stand Secure

Force the Geo Hypostasis into its revival state without destroying any Basalt Columns.

Bring ranged characters as your attackers, and hit the Geo Hypostasis while it is still on the Pillars; most of the time, it will be open to your attacks.

You Have to Hit the Pillars

Defeat a Geo Hypostasis in Co-Op Mode.
