Emperor of Fire and Iron, strategies, weak points, and achievements

The Emperor of Fire and Iron is the Boss version of the crab-like Fontemer Aberrants, and as its name in most languages implies, it is a heavily armored crab with powerful Pyro attacks; when fought, it drops "Emperor's Resolution" and Pyro Elemental Gems.

Strategy

At the start of the battle, it will try to attack you the moment you get close, so be ready to dodge whenever you try to fight this Boss.

Most of this Boss's attacks rely on the firepower of its horns; if you extinguish them, it will only have two attacks with its claws.

You can use any element but Pyro and Dendro to put out the fiery horns, but you'd be a fool if you use anything other than Hydro, as it is the fastest way to do it; any character that can apply the element constantly, such as Catalyst users is highly recommended.

While the Emperor of Fire and Iron has no fire, it will be more vulnerable to any element but will still resist Pyro more than the rest, so be sure to focus your stronger attacks during this time.

After about 30 seconds of having its horns extinguished, the Boss burrows underground and resurfaces with new ones.

Weak Point

This Boss does not have a Weak Spot, but it will be stunned every time you extinguish its fiery horns, leaving you enough time for any strong attack that might take you some time to prepare.

While it has no flames, the Boss's resistances will be heavily reduced, with Pyro remaining as its highest resistance.

Achievements

The King Is Dead, Long Live the King!

Interrupt the Emperor of Fire and Iron's Searing Coronation.

The Searing Coronation is a move in which the Emperor of Fire and Iron moves to the center of the arena and creates a massive explosion; the easy way to get the achievement is to weaken its fire protection and wait to deal the last bit of Hydro damage when it is preparing to make this attack.

Crabs for the Crab Throne

Defeat the Emperor of Fire and Iron while weakened.

You'll probably get this achievement naturally; you get it after beating the Boss while it is stunned; weaken it first, then let it regenerate its horns and extinguish them, and then you can deal the last bits of damage during its stunned state.

Defeat the Emperor of Fire and Iron in Co-Op Mode.
