Ubisoft is removing online services in some of their older games
While the games might be old, this might interest you if you are still playing them.
Ubisoft has shared a document revealing that they will be removing the online services for 10 of their games; they are mostly older games from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 era, but some are on PC, and a few players might still be playing any of these games or even just started playing them.
The games will still have their online functionalities for a while, until January 25th, then they'll lose any online features that they might have had, such as multiplayer, connecting their Ubisoft accounts, or getting Ubisoft Connect Rewards.
The affected games are as follows:
- Assassin's Creed II (Xbox 360)
- Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (MAC)
- Assassin's Creed Liberation HD (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)
- Assassin's Creed Revelations (PC)
- Ghost Recon Future Soldier (PC)
- Heroes of Might and Magic VI (PC)
- NCIS (PC)
- R.U.S.E (PC)
- Splinter Cell: Conviction (Xbox 360)
- Trials Evolution (PC)
Some of these games might not be heavily affected as their Online features are far from their selling points, like the Assassin's Creed games, for example, which are mainly Single-player games.
The retirement of online features is not something unheard of; some games might take long to do so, and others might not be so lucky; among other games ending their online services are Crysis 3, Dante's Inferno, and Dead Space 2 this December and Gran Turismo Sport in January.
