Adventure games
Stray is getting its own animated film
Yes, the one about the cat in an underground city of robots.
Stray is one of Annapurna's most popular games, and with Annapurna Animation's success with Nimona, they have decided that Stray will be their first game to be adapted into a movie.
As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, they are planning to adapt other games too, but one of the main reasons for adapting Stray first is for its popularity. Stray is hugely popular for several reasons; the story is undoubtedly one of them, and it would be great to see it being adapted into a movie.
Stray is a simple game with a bit of a complicated story. You play as a cat, and most of the things that you can do are based on how cats behave; after getting separated from the group, you have to find a way to get back, and on your way, you start learning about the world surrounding you, like the strange parasites that keep attacking you and their origins, or the robot civilization that lives underground and why they live there.
There is no specific date nor a timeframe of when this adaptation will be out, nor which of their games they are planning to adapt into animation, but they do have an interesting library of games they can adapt into different formats, maybe a few of them are better suited as a short series or make a new story set in the universe of one of these games.
