Starfield adds some significant features to the game with the latest update
Starfield's update 1.8.86 is out, and besides adding tons of fixes, they also added a few more of the promised features.
DLSS Support
The latest Starfield update is out, and they are finally adding the Nvidia DLSS support, enabling DLSS Super Resolution, Deep Learning Anti-aliasing (DLAA), Nvidia Reflex Low Latency, and DLSS Frame generation, giving players more options and one less mod in their folders.
Eat button
Another significant feature added with this Update is the ability to eat the food directly; now, instead of picking up the food from the floor and then opening your inventory to eat it, you'll have the option to eat the food on the spot with a single press of a button.
More Graphic Settings
On the Settings side, they are adding the ability to adjust the Brightness and Contrast settings and the HDR Brightness setting on the supported platforms.
What is left to add
The only remaining things they promised would be officially adding the 32:9 ultrawide monitor Support and the official Mod Support, the last one coming in 2024.
Other fixes
There are other fixes and optimizations shown in the full Patch Notes, such as some fixes related to progression after entering the Unity, or NPCs not wearing anything for no reason.
And lastly, they are fixing several Quest-related bugs involving the following quests:
- All That Money Can Buy: Fixed a rare issue where players couldn't sit during the negotiation with Musgrove.
- Blast Zone: Fixed an issue where the hard rocks that need to be cleared out by players will not appear on Ngodup Tate's land.
- Echoes of the Past: Fixed an issue where the Grylloba Queen could sometimes not be reachable during the objective "Secure the Shuttle Bay."
- Eye of the Storm: Fixed an issue where players' quest progression could potentially be blocked due to a missing docking prompt.
- Grunt Work: Addressed an issue where progress could appear blocked if "Supra et Ultra" was completed while returning to the Lodge during "High Price to Pay."
- No Sudden Moves: Fixed an issue that could prevent the entrance door to the Scow ship from being opened again.
- Operation Starseed: Fixed an issue where the key that is needed to exit the facility could sometimes not be present.
- Sabotage: Fixed an issue where David Barron could potentially not be found by players.
- Short Sighted: Fixed an issue where players could rarely become control-locked while speaking with Vladimir.
- The Heart of Mars: Fixed an issue where players might not be able to mine the "The Heart of Mars."
