Starbreeze announces new game in development set in D&D's world
Starbreeze, better known for Payday 3, is making an action-adventure game for 2026.
Starbreeze has shared with the world that they are currently working on a new title, currently codenamed Project Baxter; the game will be set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

It will be an action-adventure cooperative game and have a live-service game model, as well as community engagement; the game will come out on all major platforms, meaning that it will likely be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, though by the time it comes out, the next Nintendo console might also be out as well, so there's a chance it will also come there.
The CEO of Starbreeze has stated that they had always wanted to have a Dungeons and Dragons-themed game, as it was "at the top of the list," referring to prospective IPs for their following projects, and the partnership with Wizards of the Coast has helped a lot in that goal.
Wizards of the Coast is known for some pretty big things in fantasy, such as the Dungeons & Dragons game and the Magic: The Gathering card game, as well as being involved in some controversy in late 2022 for some questionable decisions regarding their Open Game License, a way of allowing people to create derivative works based on D&D.
