Star Wars Outlaws new trailer released and release date announced
Ubisoft has released a story trailer for Star Wars Outlaws, revealing a release date of late August.
Ubisoft unveiled a new Star Wars Outlaws trailer, which sheds light on the protagonist's objective and the game's setting, or at least part of it, as Zerek Besh, a new criminal syndicate, is pursuing Kay Vess since she crossed their boss and is now tasked with robbing their riches to gain her freedom.
The game has been confirmed to be released on August 30th, 2024, and it currently offers a few rewards for those who would like to pre-order the game. With the pre-order bonus, receive the Kessel Runner Bonus Pack including:
- A cosmetic pack for your speeder.
- A cosmetic for your starship, The Trailblazer.
The trailer for the game includes some footage that is not directly taken from the game itself. At the beginning of the trailer, it was mentioned that the captured footage was in-engine, which means that although some parts of the trailer may not be included in the final game, the game engine is capable of producing content to that degree.
Some close-up shots of the characters reveal a few awkward animations, such as Kay's robotic head movement in one of her close-ups. Hopefully, this is due to the use of early game material that was not yet fully developed and not Ubisoft cutting corners to launch a highly anticipated game in an incomplete form, though we'll have to wait until August to confirm that.
Star Wars Outlaws will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Ubisoft Connect, their own storefront. Unless they state otherwise, you'll have to install the Ubisoft Connect store to play Star Wars Outlaws on PC.
