ROG Ally's update fixes compatibility issues with certain docks
You couldn't use the 30W turbo with some, now you can.

The ROG Ally has received a new BIOS update, and among the major fixes is one regarding third-party USB-C docks and adapters, where the device could not confirm how much power it could use from the adapter/dock and would default to not using turbo to avoid drawing more power.
With the update, the ROG Ally now draws power as it is available, which could mean that if you have a good enough dock or cable, you can play in turbo while charging without a problem, and it could also mean that if it is not good enough, it will go into turbo, but instead of charging, it will drain the battery slower than if it is unplugged.
Another nice change is the brightness of the backlight, now the minimum value is lower, resulting in a darker screen if you prefer using the ROG Ally in the dark, like in the middle of the night for example.
What hasn't changed is a solution for the SD port's problems with overheating; it doesn't seem to be a too common problem, but it is a worrying one, so any ROG Ally owner should be aware of their device's temperature and environment, at least until a permanent fix is presented.
