Payday 3 is removing Denuvo before the game's release
Days ahead of its release, Payday 3 no longer has Denuvo.
Denuvo is an anti-piracy technology that some developers add to their games so they won't get pirated and distributed unofficially during the game's release period.
This technology does not necessarily protect the game from ever being pirated, but it certainly makes it harder, allowing a window of time where people who want to play the game have to buy it.
Recently, nearly a week before the game's release, Payday 3 announced that they would not have Denuvo technology in their game, though they did not reveal why.

Many people are celebrating, as you would expect from fans and people who have heard about Denuvo technology.
While Denuvo may be effective against piracy, it has also been known to cause performance issues in some of the games it is present in, thus penalizing players who actually paid for the game.
Denuvo has denied that their technology has caused such issues, though there have been claims that whenever there's a version of a game that doesn't have Denuvo integrated, it usually has better performance in comparison.
Opting out of using Denuvo is not exactly a rare thing to do; not too long ago, it was removed from Doom Eternal, though opting in isn't either, as they also announced that their technology could also be used in Nintendo Switch games.
