Ubisoft
Assassin's Creed Shadows announced, likely to release this year
It was claimed that the release date was in the video description but was soon removed.
Ubisoft has revealed the name of the Assassin's Creed game they had codenamed Red, now it is confirmed as Assassin's Creed Shadows, and its first trailer is confirmed to premiere on May 15th, 2024.
There have been claims that the trailer description in some languages revealed the release date of the game to be November 15th, 2024, which is consistent with the release dates of most Assassin's Creed games. However, the information was promptly removed, implying that it was not intended to be revealed this soon, or at least it would have been revealed during the trailer and then added to the description.
Assassin's Creed Shadows is developed by the same team that made Assassin's Creed Odyssey and the same Creative Director, so fans might have a better grasp of what to look forward to.
The Assassin's Creed website has included a riddle involving a code to form a phrase in Japanese, which didn't take too long for fans to decipher, though it doesn't seem to do much at the moment, as it is a list of numbers, an unfinished URL and a grid with Japanese symbols; when deciphering the text becomes:
ジカン ハ ユウゲン カケラ ハ ネットワークニ チリバメラレ スナドケイ ハ ホウシュウノカギトナル イソグ ガ ヨイ
Which, with the help of machine translation, means:
A fleeting moment is key Shards of knowledge lost in the network The hourglass unlocks the reward Act now!
Translations may vary, but the message remains mostly untouched.
It has been discovered by some that the URL is likely to be assassinscreed.com/hourglass. Currently, when accessed, this URL only leads to the main page of Ubisoft. It is possible that this could be a false lead or that the URL will be updated in the future to provide more information regarding the reward that the riddle referred to.
Multiple riddles are scattered among other Assassin's Creed mediums. Some were shown through emails to fans, and others appear on other Ubisoft sites, so those interested should check the different Assassin's Creed communities and see what was discovered or how you can help.
