First Person Shooters
After almost a year, System Shock Remake is coming to consoles
Right before the first anniversary of the remake, Nightdive is now releasing it on Consoles.
Nightdive Studios has revealed a trailer with more information about the console version of the game, more specifically, the release date: May 21st, 2024, almost a whole year after the PC version, which was released on May 30th, 2023.
Nightdive Studios has been known and praised for some time for their remakes of classic shooters, including the Turok games and Star Wars: Dark Forces.
Exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, the game will be available in both Physical and Digital formats, while PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles will have the game in Digital format only.
System Shock Remake is faithful to the original in several ways, including some mechanics that may be considered outdated by some; some months ago, Nightdive Studios announced that the game would receive an update with several fixes and optimizations, as Update 1.2, but there has been no info other than early 2024 and soon.
Now that the console version is coming out in May, we could see the game update either when the game releases on consoles or before that, maybe later this month, considering that March could still be regarded as early 2024, hopefully with the game coming to consoles, they could improve the gaming experience with controllers on PC, considering that the patch notes for 1.2 mention "Improved gamepad support on MFD" and a fix that caused the player to crouch when exiting the menus.
