Xbox announces new console models with improved storage
Strangely enough, the Xbox that needs the most storage is not the one that gets it.
Xbox has announced three new Xbox console models: a 1TB Xbox Series S with a Robot White design, a 2TB Xbox Series X with a Galaxy Black design, and a 1TB All-Digital Xbox Series X with a Robot White design.
The 1TB Xbox Series S already exists, except that it comes with the default Robot White color this time. As the 1TB model was only available in Carbon Black, now you can get the default color with improved storage. Other than the 1TB SSD, this model is no different from the already existing Xbox Series S consoles.
Then comes a new Xbox Series X model with a Galaxy Black design. It is black with a green and silver starry design, which is also in the controller's design. It will also feature a 2TB SSD.
Lastly, a new All-digital Xbox Series X with a Robot White design and a 1TB SSD; ironically, the one that needs the storage the most, they opted to give the 2TB to the Galaxy Black Xbox, likely to keep the price lower or so you have to buy the storage expansion, which would put the price closer to the 2TB model.
There is no set release date for these new models other than the Holidays of 2024, so it should be expected that they will be released just in time for Christmas shopping, likely during November, to give people some time to get one for gift wrapping.
Each model will be priced similarly to the existing models. The Xbox Series S will be the same as the existing 1TB model, the All-Digital Xbox Series X will have a recommended price of $449.99 USD, according to the Xbox website, while the Galaxy Black model will be much higher at $599.99 due to the unique design and the 2TB SSD.
