Xbox announces a Business update, as rumors of going multiplatform started spreading
Nothing links the rumors with the announcement other than the convenient timing.
Phil Spencer recently announced on Twitter that Microsoft is planning a business update event that will take place soon. However, he has not provided any details about what the event will entail. Since late January, rumors have been spreading that some of Microsoft's first-party games are coming to other platforms, such as the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation, so the update might be about that. However, there has been no official confirmation of these claims.
We're listening and we hear you. We've been planning a business update event for next week, where we look forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned.

No specific date has been announced for the upcoming business update, other than it being scheduled for the week following the tweet. The update could be released any day from February 12th onwards, but there is no official statement as to what it may entail. However, many people are already assuming that it will confirm the rumors that have been circulating.
The speculation about Xbox going multiplatform started when some dataminers discovered new shirts on the Hi-Fi Rush game. The game has exclusive shirts for Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store versions, and the dataminers found Red and Blue ones. What made it suspicious was that these were the same shades of red and blue that are used in the color schemes of Nintendo and PlayStation media, as well as the phrases written on these shirts: "Rock Out Anywhere" (red) and "I'm Here Baby" (Blue) could be interpreted as things that could relate to its respective platform.
Some people are saying that the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle game may be available only on Xbox for a short period of time before becoming available on other platforms. Additionally, there are rumors that some exclusive games like Starfield and Gears of War are being considered for release outside of Xbox. While these rumors have been started by people with high credibility, there is no confirmation from official sources, not yet at least. Therefore, it is important to consider these as only rumors for now.
