PlayStation is adding PS2 and PS VR2 games to the Game Catalog

PlayStation has revealed multiple games to be added to PlayStation Plus' Game Catalog before the regular Game Catalog Update in celebration of the Days of Play; for some of them, you need the highest PlayStation Plus Tier.

For Extra and Premium/Deluxe

For those with the Extra or Premium/Deluxe subscription, the following games will become available on their respective dates:

• Dredge (PS4, PS5) becomes available on May 29th.
• Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 (PS4) becomes available on May 31st
• Cricket 24 (PS4, PS5) becomes available on June 5th
• Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition (PS4, PS5) available June 7th

For PS VR2

If you have a PS VR2, from June 6th, you'll be able to play the following games if you have a Premium/Deluxe tier PlayStation Plus Subscription:

• Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord
• Walkabout Mini Golf
• Synth Riders
• Before Your Eyes
• The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapters 1 & 2

Typically, PS VR2 didn't have its own section; now, with the PS VR2 Bonus Games, players with both a PS VR2 and a Premium Subscription will have more things to play, especially if Sony plans on updating the VR Catalog in the future. Some would have preferred that this was at a lower tier, considering that you already have to buy a PS VR2 and then the most expensive version of the subscription to play these games, but apparently, everything has to be on the highest tier.

PS2 Classics

The following games will become available in the Classic Catalog on June 11th for Premium/Deluxe members:

• Tomb Raider Legend
• Star Wars: The Clone Wars
• Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

From the looks of it, these are the first PlayStation 2 games added to the Classic Catalog that are actually PS2 games. Previous PS2 games in this Catalog were PS4 Ports, meaning that the PS5 will finally be able to emulate PS2 games, opening the gates to more previously unavailable games.

Game Trial

A game trial for WWE 2K24 is now available to PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe Subscribers.
