LEGO Horizon Adventures revealed at the Summer Game Fest
Finally, Co-op multiplayer is coming to Horizon, though, as part of a LEGO game.
Summer Game Fest has announced a new LEGO game, LEGO Horizon Adventures; this time, it is a Horizon game inspired by the events of the world of the same, so it might feel like a loose adaptation of the original story but with the added creativity of the LEGO games.
You'll be able to explore some familiar locations, including cauldrons, and fight Lego versions of the robotic enemies you find in the original games.
LEGO Horizon Adventures is being Co-developed by Guerrilla and Studio Gobo; the game will feature co-op, whether you prefer locally or online, making it technically the first Horizon game with co-op finally implemented, allowing for a better experience if you have someone to play with.
Judging by the trailer, the second player will control Varl, a Nora warrior who has helped Aloy during multiple key points of Horizon: Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West; in pure LEGO fashion, the game will feature multiple attires and random things to build and place at the tribe.
Though there is still no specific release date for the game, LEGO Horizon Adventures will be available on PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch during the Holiday Season 2024.
Considering that the Horizon franchise is from PlayStation, there is a chance that when the game releases, it will follow the same trend this kind of game has been following and add an obligatory requirement of a PSN account to play online, at least on PC that is, who knows if they can implement that same kind of rule on Switch.
Since April, there has been increasing speculation that some Horizon news would be coming soon as PlayStation revealed the first Horizon game would be leaving PS+ and fans, using as evidence that the last time a game from PlayStation Studios was removed from the PlayStation Plus service, the next one came out a few months later, started speculating that there would be news about a rumored remaster of Horizon: Zero Dawn soon. Unfortunately, this hasn't been the case, and LEGO Horizon Adventures might have become the Horizon news.
