Land Vehicles and 60 FPS on Xbox are coming to Starfield
Starfield's May Update will bring optimizations for the Xbox version of the game and improved maps.
Bethesda has revealed what is coming to Starfield in the upcoming Update. While this Update still doesn't bring official mod support, it does bring some nice changes to the game.
Land Vehicles
The video update talks about the addition of Land Vehicles, and from the looks of it, they might be coming soon. However, it is very unlikely that they will be adding these on the May 15th Update, as the context was about things coming "down the horizon."
For Xbox
After the Update on May 15th, Xbox Series X players will be able to change their preferred framerate. If you have a VRR display, a type of monitor or TV that supports Variable Refresh Rate, you will be able to choose between a 30, 40, 60, and Uncapped Framerate. Otherwise, you'll still be able to choose between 30 and 60.
The option to prioritize between Visuals and Performance will also be added, so you may choose between the game looking good with some hiccups in demanding areas or having the highest framerate but having the game occasionally lowering the image quality.
PC and Xbox
Steam Beta players can already play this Update, while all other players will receive it on May 15th.
Version 1.11.33 will add better surface maps to the game. Currently, the surface maps aren't that useful, as you cannot exactly see the surface, and they mostly just show the distance between you and the icons of some landmarks. Now, the surface map will show you an aerial view of the surface, giving you a better view of your surroundings.
Your Scanner will also display icons for shops and other areas of interest, helping you navigate the cities more effectively.
When starting a New Game+, you'll be able to re-spec your character and change your appearance, in case you want to try out some traits you didn't opt-in when starting the first time, or maybe you just made a default character and now want to have a better look.
