God of War Ragnarök is getting a Free Expansion
Say hello to Valhalla. It is a new expansion coming very soon for free this month.
Sony has revealed at the game awards that a new expansion for God of War Ragnarök is on the way, and it is coming a lot sooner than expected.
The expansion doesn't seem like a huge expansion, like more story, as it looks more like a mode to challenge the player's abilities in a rogue-lite mode.
This mode will be a new area in the game that you can jump into at any time, though its story is set right after the game's ending, serving as an epilogue, so it is recommended that you finish the main story if you want to avoid any possible spoilers, even checking the Blog will show some spoilery explanation about exactly when the expansion starts on.
In this mode, Kratos will basically cross among all kinds of areas, fighting hordes of enemies and choosing on ways to buff his arsenal or Valhalla itself, some of which are only for the run, and others are permanent; when Kratos falls, he will be returned to the entrance ready to try again; armor is irrelevant in this mode, leaving you with the chance to pick whatever you think looks better.
God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla will become free on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on December 12, 2023.
